Author Biography
Kate Rigby is currently Director of Bath Spa University’s Research Centre for Environmental Humanities, but from February 19 she takes up an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship in Environmental Humanities at the University of Cologne. Her research lies at the intersection of environmental literary, philosophical, historical, and religious studies, with a specialist interest in European Romanticism, ecopoetics, and eco-catastrophe. A founding co-editor of the journal Philosophy Activism Nature, she currently co-edits the University of Virginia Press series, Under the Sign of Nature, and her most recent book is Reclaiming Romanticism: Towards an Ecopoetics of Decolonization (2020). Kate held a Rachel Carson Center Fellowship in 2020.
